If It Hurts – Gallant

I’m about to take off for a long weekend for 4th of July, but I couldn’t leave without posting this track first. Remember how I “discovered” the new Vampire Weekend like a week ago? Well, I think I might’ve found the next The Weeknd. This R&B artist Gallant, backed by producer Felix Snow, croons with delicious emotive lyrics accompanied with some original chill beats. I cannot wait for his EP, Zebra, to drop so I can see what else he’s got up his sleeve.

Refresh – Blackbird Blackbird

Blackbird Blackbird, an amazing producer out of San Francisco aka my city, dropped a new track a few days ago. I think its quite spectacular like everything he puts out, but I’ll stop writing and let it speak for itself.

Fools – Siblings

All I’m going to say about Siblings is that they could be the next Vampire Weekend. This indie foursome has that much raw talent and potential. The fact that they only have 100 followers on Soundcloud is a complete and utter shock to me. Listen for yourself and see what I’m talking about.

Don’t Wake Me – Robots Don’t Sleep

This track isn’t new or anything, but I stumbled across it yesterday and it has this slightly eerie vibe that I just can’t get over. Plus, the video for it is adds yet another layer of mysterious intrigue. I’m going to be fixating on this one for awhile.

Operate ASTR

Operate (The Chainsmokers Remix) – ASTR

Back from my road trip yesterday evening. It was an amazing experience and I am pretty sad to be thrown into regular life again. However, to brighten my mood a little, I saw my current favorite producers The Chainsmokers dropped a remix of ASTR while I was away. I had been meaning to post “Operate” since it was released and never got around to it, so hearing this killer remix that made it relevant again was really exciting. Now I just can’t decide which version I like best.

Baby come lay your head down
I don’t want to know what you did before
Baby come lay your head down
Every little thing that you’re looking for
Oh oh, the war you started
Oh oh, the lines are forming

Call me the doctor
Make me the doctor
Follow the lights down
And I’ll be the one, I’ll be the one
Operate, operate oh, operate, operate oh

Tesselate (Alt-J Cover) – Ellie Goulding

Fitzpleasure (Betatraxx Remix) – alt-J

I am finally done with finals and it is officially summer! Like I believe I said before, going on vaca for the next week so this will be my only post for awhile, however I promise to be back on top of my shit when I come back from some seriously needed R&R. Today’s post is essentially a dedication to the always amazing and insanely lyrically creative band alt-J. They are crazy popular these days on the indie scene, but I couldn’t help but write about them anyways. First up, a cover of “Tessellate” from the stunning Ellie Goulding. You really can’t go wrong there. And I’m also throwing in a fairly old but still totally sick remix of “Fitzpleasure” courtesy of Betatraxx. Tickle your ears with these two while I get out of here and take a break from reality.

Spanish Sahara (Alex Klinger Remix) – Foals

I apologize for not posting much recently. Been a crazy week and now I’m entering into finals madness, then on a road trip after that so I may be a little MIA for awhile. But today I bring you this extremely chill Foals remix from a guy named Alex Klinger. Its one of those tracks you can get lost in. I’ll be studying with this on repeat shortly.
